HTC Flyer – Android Tablet; Full Specification and Price
‘HTC – Quietly Brilliant’ as the caption says they are really great in developing great phones. They have a great reputation in the Phone market as unlike, Samsung, LG etc. HTC only concentrate on cell phones. Now, HTC is trying to test their luck with Tablets with the new HTC Flyer. And also to spice up the move HTC is using Android OS in the HTC Flyer. They also added the HTC sense to give the interface a HTC signature. The device is quite handy and have great specs. And i personally liked this than the Apple iPad 2. Well, enough with the intro, lets get into the specification and Price of the device. Luckily, HTC Flyer don’t have different versions like the Motorola XOOM tablet. Don’t Forget to +1 the article if you liked it using the Google +1 button in the top of this article. Read ahead;
HTC Flyer is a Tablet with no GSM voice communication capabilities. So, it can be used under any GSM carriers around the globe. The device also has Wi-Fi and 3G support.
HTC Flyer is not a CDMA device. So, it wont work under any CDMA network around the globe.
HTC Flyer : Appearance
HTC Flyer is almost like the Samsung Tab P1000 and screen size and resolution of the display is same. HTC Flyer has a 7” inch 600 x 1024 pixels LCD Capacitive touch screen. The display supports multi touch input method and Handwriting support. The user interface is HTC’s own HTC Sense UI. There are some HTC Touch-sensitive controls with rotation icons in the front of the device. There is no Gyroscope and barometer sensor to add up the touch sensitivity.
HTC Flyer has a unibody design which makes it look like the Apple iPad 2 in one way. But, it is more thicker than the iPad 2. HTC Flyer is 13.2 mm thick and weights about 420.8g. HTC Flyer is available only in Silver colour. For the black colour gadgets lovers( including me) i must say, silver is the rite colour for this device.
HTC Flyer : Software and Hardware
HTC Flyer is loaded with the most popular Android OS v2.4 (Gingerbread). The device has a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, not dual core. It has 1GB RAM and has a internal memory of 32GB and you can add upto 32GB using external card slot. The whole HTC flyer is powered by a Li-Ion 4000 mAh battery which offers 1470h standby time.
HTC Flyer : Camera and Other Features
HTC Flyer has a 5 MP autofocus camera with no flash support. The camera can shot 720p videos @30fps. There is also a front facing 1.3MP camera.

GPS, A-GPS, HD video playback and support for almost all music formats. And for my surprise, this is one of the device i am seeing after Samsung Wave which support Bluetooth v3.0, which is really useful for fast date transfer through Bluetooth.
HTC Flyer : Price, Competitors and Final Words
HTC Flyer is a mid size tablet with good specifications. The main competitor for HTC Flyer can be the Samsung Galaxy Tab which released long back and it has a lower price tag than the HTC Flyer.
But, when comparing Galaxy Tab P1000 has only 1GHz processor, Android Froyo OS, 512MB RAM and 3.15 MP camera which can shot only 480p videos. While, HTC Flyer has 1.5GHz processor, latest Android OS, 1GB RAM and 5MP camera which can record 720p videos. In specs wise HTC Flyer is the winner. But, if you need a nice tablet for lower price tag then, Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 is the best. ‘Cos HTC Flyer is about Rs 12,000($245) costlier than Samsung Galaxy Tab and the main thing you need to think is, is the additional features worth for the additional $250?
Price, HTC Flyer price in India is Rs 38,500 and Price in US is $780. While the Samsung Galaxy Tab price in India is only Rs 26,149. Look, that is a great difference in money. So, all I want to tell you is, choose the tablet according to your need and your budget and I think it’s easy to make a choice as you got a price difference of this much. Do share your choice of Tablet with us. Thank you for reading.
