Hi friends, Recently, i saw a square shaped phone in one of my friend’s hand and when he handed over the ‘Square box’ to me i was shocked to see the Nokia Label on the top of the device. I never saw such a design from Nokia before.Yes, it was the all new Nokia X5-01. It was a neat and chubby Symbian smartie with a sliding QWERTY keyboard under the hood. I thought it will definitely worth sharing about this cute little phone.
On occasion Nokia will experiment with form factor and shape. The Nokia X5-01 is the kind of phone that might just leave you wondering. Is it having a bad slider day or a great square day? No, the Nokia X5-01 is better than that. The Full QWERTY keyboard is the best thing in this little fella. Touchscreen provides an answer of sorts, but nothing yet really beats an old-fashioned hardware QWERTY keyboard.The full four-row keyboard on the Nokia X5 has a long list of applications – from SMS and email, to IM and social networking. The Nokia X5-01 sports a dedicated media key too – it’s no square when it comes to having fun.
The phone operates on Quad-band GSM/EDGE, tri-band 3G with HSDPA and HSUPA. When it comes to the OS part, the phone loaded with Symbian S60 UI, 3rd edition FP2. It has a 2.36” inch 256K-color QVGA display. The Nokia X5-01 is a full-blown smartphone too – 600MHz and 256MB RAM put it within a stone’s throw of the Nokia N8 performance. It has a 200MB internal storage and have a external card slot which is expandable upto 32GB, Nokia is also providing a 2GB card in the box.
Even though the phone is small, Nokia tried its best to fill the square with lot of features. The 5MP fixed focus camera with LED flash at the back of the device is capable of VGA@15fps video recording. Other features are; the phone support Wi-Fi b/g; DLNA and UPnP support, Bluetooth 2.0, Accelerometer based controls, Stereo FM radio with RDS, Internet radio. The phone offers excellent audio quality along with a 3.5mm audio jack connectivity support. The phone comes With Music bundle in select markets.The phone has a good email and social networking support. It has a built in office document viewer. One of the main demerit of the device is that it doesn’t have any GPS support. But except for that this is really an amazing device to buy.
The phone priced at $230(INR 10,036) in the market, which is really acceptable for this cute little phone. At least you will surely get someone’s attention while you are out with this phone (quite sure with that
