Samsung Announced I9100 Galaxy S II; Specification & Price
Samsung Galaxy S, the device which turned up the Samsung against the Nokia, the device that gave us confident to buy without comparing, the device which has the Super AMOLED display which offers quality that no other phone can give, the device with super slim design line. Whoa Whoa….Oops! i got excited!…. little bit. But, the latest news I heard about the successor of Galaxy S, made me to climb on to the ceiling and to have a vertical dance!! not literally. Samsung announced the legal successor of Galaxy S, the all new I9100 Galaxy S II at the WMC 2011.Galaxy S can be considered as one of the Top Phone of 2010. So, it seems like Samsung tried its best to get the Top Phone title of 2011 again by having the very best ingredients added to the new Galaxy S II.
Among the prominent ones, it features the latest display technology – Super AMOLED Plus which replaces the IPS panel (retina display) technology of the iPhone 4. Also, sporting a 4.3-inch Gorilla Glass screen with a native resolution of 800×480, it is expected to provide much better viewing experience than the IPS panel. Samsung has once again repeated the history, by incorporating an extremely thin bezel, the Galaxy II is said to measure at just 8.49mm in width and is claimed to be the thinnest Smartphone in the world presently.
Weighing in at a paltry 116 grams, it seems to give its counterparts – Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc and LG Optimus Black, a run for their money. Powered by a dual-core CPU, the unit is expected to ship with Samsung’s own Orion SoC processors instead of the much hyped NVIDIA Tegra 2 SoC. Orion SoC processors have apparently been named as the Exynos 4210 dual-core SoC, as per the latest reports. It is also said to bundle with a capable 1GB RAM onboard.
The other specifications include, Gingerbread OS with new and improved customized UI – TouchWiz 4.0, 3-axis integrated gyroscope for enhanced gaming experience, an NFC (Near Field Communication) chipset and the 21Mbps HSDPA connectivity for 3G data services. In addition, it also includes an 8MP camera with 1080p video recording capability and a 2MP front-facing camera for video calling. The phone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, also included the Wi-Fi Direct Feature, also Bluetooth v3.0 for high speed transfer of files.
The Samsung Galaxy S II is scheduled for an official release across certain designated parts of Europe and Asia later this month and a global launch is expected to follow shortly. Thank God! The phone is launching in India too! which is really a relief for the Android lovers in India. The expected price is around Rs 27,500 ($560).
